Use the smartboard resource to count presented sets of up to ten baubles, children select the correct number and are rewarded by a Christmas animation and sound effect. The word document with the large baubles, I make in to an interactive display, enlarge the tree to A3, laminate, cut out and laminate the baubles and attach with velcro, children can then dress the tree with their choosen amount of baubles. The other word document I use as a cut and stick activity for children which becomes a useful count assessment at the end of term.

Children often struggle to retain number recognition and this is a tried and tested approach which uses alliteration and colourful memorable characters to support children in their first steps in maths. Colourful characters help children remember the number names through alliteration, song and rhyme. Each character is supported by a number of activities which reinforce basic number skills.

A short introduction to the Numberland concept. A proven devise to support children with number recognition and count. This has been used to great success in my own school for the past 8 years in both Nursery and Reception classes as well as support for SEN children. Visiting teachers, child minders and even inspectors have enquired about it's availability. So I've finally decided to share it with the wider community. Thank you.

Each character resource comes with planning, a video, an interactive game, poster letter to parents and follow on activities too!

Match 1-10 . Included is a base grid displaying numerals 1- 5 and 6-10, quantities of sweets arranged in the Numicon patterns from 1-10 can be cut out for children to tick on the base grid demonstrating number recognition and matching quantity to number.

An interactive notebook file which supports children with basic subtraction and number bonds to six. Children click on how many parts of the six Numicon cookie they want the dinosaur to eat and then see how many are left. If they click on the dinosaur the get rewarded with a roar!
